Lucio Fontana

Lucio Fontana

Lucio Fontana (1899–1968) was an Argentinian-Italian artist best known for his revolutionary "Concetto Spaziale" (Spatial Concept) series, in which he pierced and slashed canvases to explore the dimension of space beyond traditional painting. As the founder of Spatialism (Spazialismo), Fontana sought to merge art, technology, and movement, redefining the relationship between surface, depth, and physical space.
